What a day!  We built our last house in only 3 hours!!  7 houses in 4 days. I believe with all I am that this is a team that God put together and gave the knowledge, strength, and wisdom to have a great impact in a small time.
Our final house was for Shelly (the lady who coordinates the necklaces).  This house was built as a transitional home for the mothers and mothers to be. They will also use this house as a basket weaving room to continue to employ and empower these women to live lives of hope and to help keep their families together.
Our team was able to pray over the work and the women who would be passing through the house. When we were done and had hung the curtains (that the ladies sewing group made) Shelly and some of the Haitian ladies made their way out to see it and began to cheer loudly as they saw THE CURTAINS!  Our guys joked that we didn’t need to build houses we just needed to bring curtains.
Angie, John and Nate were able to go to William and Abby’s school to pass out the soccer balls, basketball, 4 square balls, jump ropes and they said it was awesome to watch their faces light up when they found out they were for them. Nate was able to lead chapel service and thought it was cool that the first song they sang was Love the Lord your God, which is one of the main songs they sing in Kingdom Kids.
We finished the work at Will and Julies house, we painted their stairway and their front gates.
After we finished today we were able to shop at Shelly’s and the went to a burger joint for lunch. Though the burgers left a lot to be desired the time laughing and relaxing together was well worth it.
We will relax the rest of the day and head to the airport at 6:00am tomorrow. Our flight will leave Haiti at 8:50am and we should be in to Omaha around 6:10pm. Please pray for our safe travels and smooth flight connections.
Thank you all for praying for this team as we have been given this opportunity to share His hope with the Haitian people. Your prayers have been heard and answered and we can’t wait to share our stories with all who have been a part of this journey with us.
Here is a picture of the last house with the whole group as well as a picture of Ben with the young lady that he and Kelly have been praying for (Micheline).
Thank you all again for being on this journey with us. See you all back in the States soon.
